The instructor clearly has a purpose for everyone to succeed, learn the materials, and love the subject. He genuinely cares about his students and he is very engaging and open to questions and feedback. Aside from Olympiads and AMCs, when I was in high school, I came across this academy in the summer to prepare for AP Chemistry and AP Calculus AB along with SAT II Math Subject Test. The learning materials were well-organized, with content presented in a logical manner. The instructor did an excellent job of extracting only the core, pivotal concepts I needed to know, which I really liked. After I've done much practice and have taken several simulation tests, I was able to receive a perfect score on both the SAT II Math Subject Test and SAT I math sections. I was also able to boost my GPA with my AP Chem. and AP Calc. AB grades with minimal stress during my first-semester senior year. This fall 2020, I will be attending Vanderbilt University as a music and biochemistry double-major, and I truly believe that STEM & ROOT Academy has given me the confidence and the knowledge that I need in order to bring myself up to this point. Overall, I highly recommend that you check out this academy. Trust me, you won't regret it once you get the hang of it."

And although I did not make semifinals for USABO, I did get a Certificate of Merit from 2022 USABO Open Exam. In the class, the teacher goes over things in well detail and order, and personally, after studying and digesting my notes I took during the class, I could answer a lot of questions in my AP bio class in school. The class is a great way to learn AP bio and many different parts of the content of USABO."

I also like how convenient the way of posting and working on homework using Google Classroom, and how the live zoom classes seem like in-person classes. Also, the teacher explains why studying competition math is important for me, so I can develop motivation and passion for this class. Overall, I genuinely like this program and how it operates. Before going to Stem & Root, I went to several other tutoring places but it didn’t help me as much as it did from Stem & Root. Usually it is really hard for tutor teachers to go in depth with the subject because there is not a lot of time but even with the little time, John teacher tries to tell you everything he knows about it and goes really like really in depth with the subject which surely helps especially for AP classes. He also gives you multiple choice questions and practice test for homework to help you out on AP testing. John teacher not even helped my grade but he also became my mentor and a counselor. He put on effort and time to my works and gave me the best he could. I know the price could burden some of you but I honestly think it is worth it. "STEM & ROOT Academy 를 벌써 1년정도 수학이랑 과학수업을 받았는데 너무 너무 좋았습니다! 제가 영어가 부족해서 다른 학원을 다닐때 가끔 이해하는데 어려운 부분이 있었는데 한국말 영어 둘다 잘하셔서 저에게는 너무 좋은학원이었고, 또 과학 같은 경우에는 가르키는 학원이 별로 없어서 매번 혼자 공부했었는데 John 선생님께서 수학과 또 과학도 모든 수업을 다 잘 가르키셔서 성적도 많이 오르고 많은것을 배운것 같습니다. 제가 못 알아들었을 때면 몇번이고 다시 설명해주시고 또 까먹었을때에도 친절히 잘가르쳐 주셨습니다. 또 여러가지 과목을 잘 가르치시니 때론 시간이 남았을때 다른 과목 수업 질문도 하고 배울수있어서 시간 배분이 잘됐었습니다. 그리고 John 선생님 께서 너무 착하시고 또 수업외에 학생들에게 좋은 조언들을 많이 해주셔서 공부쪽만이 아닌 지식도 많이 쌓고 또 마음쪽으로도 많이 위로 받고, 의지했습니다! 수업도 하나 하나 천천히 잘 가르켜 주셨고 SAT 수업 받을때에도 단순히 test만 풀고 공부하는것이 아닌, algebra 1 부터 calculus 까지 하나 하나 다 배워 SAT문제 풀때에도 많은 도움이 되었습니다.
